As a Quality Specialist at Carbon Robotics, you'll evaluate the financial and operational efficiency of our LaserWeeder. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, data analysis, and cost-benefit analyses to determine the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of this innovative agricultural equipment.
This role plays a crucial part in helping farmers make informed decisions regarding the adoption of this technology.
What you’ll do:
Data Collection and Analysis:
Carbon Robotics follows equitable hiring practices. Flexibility in our hiring process allows hiring of talent at levels different from what are posted. The compensation range outlined is based on a target budgeted base salary. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as relevant experience and skill, Interview assessments and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements. Offers are determined using our equitable hiring practices. Carbon Robotics offers additional compensation in the form of benefits premiums, pre-IPO stock options and On Target Earning commissions for appropriate positions. Base pay ranges are reviewed each year. We are committed to the principle of pay equity - paying employees equitably for similar work.
Carbon Robotics' base salary pay range:
$70,492—$105,743 USD

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, data analysis, and cost-benefit analyses to determine the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of this innovative agricultural equipment.
This role plays a crucial part in helping farmers make informed decisions regarding the adoption of this technology.
What you’ll do:
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Collect and compile data on the laser-based weeding machinery, including purchase and operating costs, performance metrics, and related expenses.
- Analyze data to identify trends, strengths, weaknesses, and areas of potential improvement.
- Calculate the total cost of ownership for the laser weeding machinery and compare it to traditional weeding methods.
- Assess the economic and operational benefits, including labor savings, yield improvement, and reduced chemical usage, to determine the overall cost-effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and the competitive landscape for laser weeding technology and similar farming equipment.
- Evaluate the market demand and potential return on investment for adopting laser weeding machinery.
- Prepare clear and comprehensive reports and presentations that summarize findings, methodologies, and recommendations.
- Communicate complex technical information in an easily understandable manner for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, customers, and sales, to gather insights and data necessary for analysis.
- Develop financial models to simulate various scenarios and assess the potential outcomes of adopting laser weeding technology.
- Provide actionable recommendations and insights to assist farmers, agricultural cooperatives, and decision-makers in making informed choices regarding the implementation of laser-based weeding machinery.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of data, calculations, and analysis methods.
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Business, Science or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and financial modeling.
- Familiarity with farm machinery, agricultural technology, and precision agriculture.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of agricultural economics and cost-benefit analysis principles is a plus.
- Previous experience in agricultural machinery analysis or a related field is advantageous.
- Experience in conducting cost-effectiveness studies and financial modeling is a plus.
- This position will involve a lot of travel to farms to conduct on-site assessments. Travel should be considered as much as 90% of the time.
