Are you ready to help us design and build our LaserWeeder that solve real problems in our food supply?

As a Backend Software Engineer at Carbon Robotics you will work alongside your software, mechanical and electrical peers to build AI and robotics products. In particular, you will be involved in the design and implementations of our backend services.

You’ll do whatever it takes - which might include going to the farm - to ensure our customers have reliable and safe products.

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with Engineering teams and Product Managers to build our labeling, monitoring and data analysis services and web interfaces, both customer and internally facing.
  • Quickly build and troubleshoot web applications that are simple, yet elegant
  • What you’ll build delivers critical information to farmers about the efficacy of their weeding, the health of their crops around the globe, the status of their fleet, as well as improve our machine learning labeling platform.
  • Build and troubleshoot cloud applications and tooling to support a dynamic and continuous machine learning model training pipeline.
  • Maintain and scale cloud services, including services that provide remote monitoring, geo spatial data and visibility to our fleet of Robots located around the globe.
  • Work with a fast pace nimble software team working on problems that have never been solved before
  • Drive decision through project planning, task delegation and leading problem solving efforts to iterate quickly

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Success:

  • Experience building services and distributed systems on a machine or in the cloud
  • 5+ (2+ for Mid Level) years of programming using Go and Python
  • Proficiency with web services (REST/GRPC)
  • Relational databases (MySQL/Postgres/Sqlite) and Non-Relational databases (Redis)
  • AWS or similar cloud provider experience is a plus
  • General knowledge of observability tools (ex: Prometheus ecosystem) is a plus
  • Some experience with Deep Learning Pipelines is a plus
  • Familiarity with the Kubernetes ecosystem is beneficial
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and a desire to work in multidisciplinary teams
  • BS+ in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field

Carbon Robotics follows equitable hiring practices. Flexibility in our hiring process allows hiring of talent at levels different from what are posted. The compensation range outlined is based on a target budgeted base salary. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as relevant experience and skill, Interview assessments and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements. Offers are determined using our equitable hiring practices. Carbon Robotics offers additional compensation in the form of benefits premiums, pre-IPO stock options and On Target Earning commissions for appropriate positions. Base pay ranges are reviewed each year. We are committed to the principle of pay equity – paying employees equitably for similar work.

Carbon Robotics' base salary pay range:

$140,000—$210,000 USD
