About the role

We’re looking for a Mid-level product designer (contract) who can jump into an evolving product environment, work autonomously, and deliver high-quality design output quickly. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, is energized by small-team collaboration, and has a strong balance of product thinking, systems thinking, and visual craft.

What you’ll do

You’ll partner closely with Product and Engineering to shape user experiences, contribute to our design system, and ship impactful features through a thoughtful, pragmatic approach. In this role you’ll:

• Own end-to-end product design from contributing to scoping, defining trade-offs, exploration, prototyping and delivering final UI.
• Leverage and expand our design system, including componentization, tokens, and usage pattern, partnering with a strong UI engineering team.
• Deliver high-quality execution quickly, adapting to “crawl, walk, run” expectations across projects.
• Conduct UX research to understand user needs and technical feasibility for complex AI workflows.
• Provide clear prototypes, documentation and handoff materials to ensure smooth implementation.
• Work across global time-zones like a pro (between IST and PST)

What you bring

Required

• 4+ years of experience, with a strong background in startups, ideally in SaaS or tool-based products.
• Demonstrated strong product thinking—ability to define problems, identify constraints, and propose pragmatic solutions.
• Proven skills in design system usage and componentization; comfort working with shadcn/ui or similar modern component libraries.
• Fast, high-quality execution. Comfortable with iterative delivery and ambiguous requirements.
• Track record of shipping complex features at high quality.
• Ability to work independently with little direction and strong ownership of outcomes.
• Strong collaboration leveraging different perspectives with ease.
• Strong visual design foundation and ability to ship polished interfaces.

Preferred

• Experience designing for AI-driven workflows
• Hands-on experience with vibe-coding and using AI tools to prototype (e.g., Claude, V0, Figma Make).
• Experience with accessibility remediation and implementing accessible UI patterns.
• Experience contributing to or evolving a design system in a growing org.
