Who we are
Our mission at Quandri is to transform insurance into a trusted and delightful experience using AI. We do this by delivering an AI operating system for North America’s best insurance agencies and brokerages.
What we do
Quandri is transforming the insurance experience for policyholders across North America by providing AI to the industry’s critical stakeholders - insurance agencies and brokerages. Insurance agents are the lifeblood of the insurance industry, and are where most Property & Casualty insurance is sold and serviced. Yet, there are forces making it harder than ever for them to operate; more consolidation, rising talent crisis, increasing complexity of insurance and the AI revolution are significant challenges for how agencies have typically operated.
This challenge is a massive opportunity to rethink how insurance agencies operate. Quandri is at the cutting edge of this change, delivering real transformation to the entire insurance experience one process at time through the deep understanding of insurance workflows, systems and data paired with deep technical capabilities and proprietary models.
We’re making insurance better for policyholders, while helping insurance brokerages deliver a better client service, grow faster, and harness AI so that they control the future of insurance distribution.

About the Role
As a Senior DevOps Engineer on the Infrastructure team, you'll help lead the design and evolution of Quandri's core infrastructure and platform capabilities. You'll play a critical role in how our software is deployed, run, and scaled — partnering across engineering to build robust, performant systems that support our fast-growing customer base and AI-driven platform. This team is responsible for our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD systems, container orchestration, developer experience, observability, and platform reliability.
You'll also contribute to our security and compliance posture as we mature these capabilities. This includes building out our incident response processes, security tooling, and controls alongside core infrastructure work.
As we scale our AI and automation capabilities, you'll also help establish MLOps practices to support model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
You'll work closely with engineering and product peers to ensure that our infrastructure is performant, scalable, cost-effective, and secure. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives on ownership, is motivated by operational excellence, and wants to help shape the foundational platform of a company growing rapidly in a dynamic, customer-centric space.
What you’ll do:
Infrastructure & Platform
Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, robust AWS Cloud infrastructure services
Improve and scale our CI/CD pipelines to support faster, safer software delivery
Manage our container orchestration leading automation efforts around deployment
Drive improvements in monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, Open Telemetry and Sentry
Collaborate closely with engineering teams to improve developer experience, operational efficiency, and reliability
Identify and drive platform-level opportunities for optimization in cost, performance, and resilience
MLOps & AI Infrastructure
Help establish infrastructure and deployment pipelines for ML models and AI workloads
Build observability and monitoring for model performance and inference endpoints
Support data engineering pipelines and infrastructure for model training and evaluation
Security & Compliance
Contribute to security incident response processes, including runbooks and escalation procedures
Implement security controls and tooling across our AWS infrastructure (GuardDuty, Security Hub, Macie, CloudTrail, etc.)
Support SOC 2 compliance initiatives and security control framework
Manage Identity and Access Management (IAM), secrets management, and least-privilege access models
Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines with automated scanning and security testing
Help develop security policies, standards, and procedures
Support data loss prevention (DLP) and data governance initiatives
The right person for this role will have:
Required:
5+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles in a modern cloud environment
Deep knowledge of AWS services and AWS well-architected patterns
Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Terragrunt, or equivalent)
Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS or ECS)
Strong coding and scripting skills (Python, Go, Bash)
Proficiency improving and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred)
Experience with observability and monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Grafana, Sentry, or similar)
Strong written and verbal communication skills — you can document, share, and teach effectively
A thoughtful, collaborative problem-solver who enjoys working across teams
Pragmatic mindset that balances competing priorities (security, velocity, cost, reliability)
Nice to Have:
Devops:
Experience with serverless architectures (Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, API Gateway)
Advanced AWS networking knowledge
Database optimization and administration (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB at scale)
Experience with data infrastructure and streaming (Kafka, Kinesis, data lakes, CDC pipelines)
DevSecOps:
Experience with infrastructure security and AWS security tooling (GuardDuty, Security Hub, Macie, CloudTrail, etc.)
Security certifications (AWS Security Specialty, CISSP, CCSP)
Background in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, insurance)
Experience with vulnerability management and penetration testing
MLOps:
Experience deploying and managing ML models in production
Familiarity with ML frameworks and model serving infrastructure (SageMaker, TensorFlow Serving, MLflow, etc.)
Understanding of model monitoring, versioning, and lifecycle management
Location
We strongly prefer candidates based in Vancouver, where you'll work from our Olympic Village office three days per week. For the right candidate, we're open to remote arrangements within Canada, with a requirement to travel to Vancouver at least once per quarter for team collaboration.
Our guiding principles
Customers at the core.
We put the customer at the center of all we do. At a basic level, we believe business success comes down to deeply understanding customers' wants and needs, and tying your success to the true success of your customers. We prioritize customer needs above everything else, and know that in the long term the weighing machine will tie our success together.
Move with urgency.
The default state of organizations is to get slower and more bureaucratic as they grow. More time is spent getting on the same page rather than actually producing work. We embed default urgency into everything we do to fight back against this. If we need to move more slowly and deliberately for an important decision or project, we will, but we will do this intentionally and not let it become our default state, as velocity is our most important advantage
Be curious.
We understand the world by being curious and asking why. We aren't satisfied with surface level understanding, and seek a deeper understanding of why things are the way they are. Don't take someone's word for it or the answer "because that's how we do it." Understand why and dig deep.
Excellence in execution.
We know that what separates good from great is a high level of execution. We commit ourselves to excellence in everything that we do, from delivering an amazing product to writing a great email.
Act like an owner.
We're all owners of the business and act like it. We follow through on commitments, own our results and think long-term. When everyone in a company exhibits high ownership, things don’t slip through the cracks and you need less process to ensure the right thing gets done.
Fight for simplicity.
The law of increasing functional information states that systems evolve to become more complex over time. At Quandri, we believe there is sophistication in simplicity; as such, we intentionally fight for streamlined solutions and are committed to the uncomplicated.
AI-first.
We aim to solve problems with AI. Not all problems can be solved with AI, and we know this, but there are an increasing number of problems that can be and we prioritize AI-first thinking with our customers and in our internal operations and decision making.
Don't let imposter syndrome stop you from applying. Great people sometimes don't have the "right" experience. If you think that you'll be amazing at this role then we encourage you to apply.
