About the role

What You’ll Be Doing

Don’t make me think. We are looking for a candidate who can simplify a complex user workflow. We need a candidate that can solve customer pain points from the frontend and is not afraid to talk to users.

The super cool part? You are creating the interface for users to manage complex mission operations for hundreds of satellites. Whether they want to take pictures, beam broadband/cellular, or dock with another satellite – this is the interface they will use. That giant screen in NASA mission operations photos? That could be yours.

You’ll be working alongside other frontend developers on an engineering team that also includes backend and platform developers and collaborates daily in an Agile Scrum environment.

Tech Skills:

  • Experience writing React components in Typescript and using React frameworks like Next.js, Refine (or Blitz.js / RedwoodJS)
  • Experience building 2D and/or 3D visualization capabilities to support representation of complex missions or data sets
  • Experience with using UI libraries like Ant Design, Chakra or Bootstrap
  • Capability to design work in Figma and collaborate amongst stakeholders
  • Knowledge of API concepts and the ability to fetch data with GraphQL and REST
  • Use of identity and access management via Auth0 or Okta and understanding of cloud security best practices
  • Familiarity with Git and GitHub or similar framework for version control
  • Experience with test frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, Chai, Cypress, and/or Jasmine

Soft Skills:

  • Product ownership and eagerness to understand customer experience and measure usage
  • A high standard for software maintainability, quality, resilience, and performance
  • Strong cross-functional communication between a backend team and product manager

Background Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent practical experience
  • 4+ years [professional] experience in frontend development. Professional experience can be replaced with a self-starter who has drive, the technical skills, and is obsessed with their product.

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:

  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Learn more about the ITAR here.

About Quindar

Have you seen Apollo 13, The Martian, or Armageddon and recall all of the NASA engineers in a room with a bunch of monitors? Quindar is digitizing that away. Satellites are flying servers in space and we are revolutionizing the future of spacecraft operations by building the DataDog for space.

Our team has worked at SpaceX, OneWeb, Lockheed Martin, Iridium, Boeing, AWS, and RedHat. We've operated dozens of satellites, worked on broadband and earth observation constellations, and serviced commercial and government users. We are using lessons learned from our previous aerospace and startup experiences to revolutionize the space industry and enable access to space without being an expert.
