Who You Are
5 years experience in data science roles, with a degree in CS or a related field
Experience with unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, and recommender systems
Broad skillset including data engineering and pipeline development
Python proficiency and ability to collaborate closely with engineers
Commitment to empirical rigor through iterative cycles of hypothesis development, testing, and refinement
Comfortable with fluid responsibilities and wearing multiple hats in early-stage environment
Eagerness to roll up sleeves and do whatever it takes to rapidly iterate and ship products
Knowledge of full model development life cycle from data prep to deployment
Advocate for accountable AI - expertise in detecting biases, promoting equity, and improving model transparency
Strong drive to continue building expertise across latest techniques in data science
Passion for translating data into solutions that tangibly improve people's lives
What You'll Do
Design, build, and own data science initiatives that will power 0 to 1 products
Own data science as a practice across the company, setting best practices, building solutions, and delivering production models to customers
Work closely with engineers and product teams to iterate and deliver
Wear many other hats, along with the rest of the founding team, as we build the best new tech company in the Pacific Northwest!

We are actively seeking candidates who reside in the Seattle area or are willing to relocate. This position requires regular in-office attendance, and we expect our team members to be present on most working days.
