About The Role
This is an internship opportunity starting in January 2024 for a current post-secondary student. The Intern QA Engineer will be a part of our Engineering team and report to the VP of Engineering. During this internship, you will be given the opportunity to have a direct impact on the evolution of Operto's business and have the exciting opportunity to work in the IoT domain. Your skills will directly contribute to solving technical challenges in the areas of reliability, automation, optimization and security.

Role Responsibilities
- Work under QA Lead mentorship testing both internal and external products for bugs and other flaws.
- Help verify the proper implementation of features against design specifications.
- Work with QA Test Lead to maintain a reporting system that tracks and verifies fixes throughout the test cycle.
- Provide written and verbal reports on the state of bugs, features, performance, and playability.
- Escalate risks and blocking issues as soon as they are uncovered.
- Help to run build verification checklists against a range of IoT devices, desktop browsers and mobile platforms.
- Perform regression tests.
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
- Working knowledge of the software development life cycle
- The desire to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to develop unit testing of code components or complete applications
- Experience working on software development projects
- Experience writing test plans and test scripts.
