Role overview

We are looking for an ambitious recent graduate to join our team as a full-time Junior Marketing & Events Coordinator. In this role, you will act as the operational engine and right hand to the Marketing Manager, STaR Division. You will support the execution of the entire marketing strategy—from digital campaigns and social media to trade show logistics and partner activities. This is an exciting opportunity to kick-start your career, broaden your knowledge of the Tech industry, and have a direct impact on Operto’s business evolution. This is a hybrid role having Monday, Tuesday and Thursday as in office anchor days.

Responsibilities

Marketing Operations & Campaign Support

  • Digital Execution: Support the Marketing Manager in the daily execution of email marketing, webinars, and social channels.

  • Asset Management: Organize and update marketing assets such as sales decks, product one-pagers, and product descriptions.

  • Content Creation: Assist in creating and updating landing pages, social graphics, promotional materials, and event swag using Canva.

  • CRM Hygiene: Support CRM and marketing automation tools (HubSpot/Salesforce) by helping maintain accurate contact records, campaign tracking, and event lead data.

Event Planning & Field Marketing

  • Logistics & Operations: Own the coordination of event timelines, purchases, travel, shipping, booth setup, swag, and printed materials to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.

  • Vendor Management: Communicate with vendors, venues, and partners to manage deadlines, attendee lists, and event logistics.

  • Research: Source vendors, venues, and relevant industry events that align with our target audience.

  • Reporting: Maintain organized records for contracts and invoices, and support post-event wrap-ups including attendee data and performance tracking.

Market Research & Strategy Support

  • Competitive Intel: Conduct competitor and market research to support marketing and brand positioning.

  • Performance Tracking: Help track campaign and event performance including website traffic, registrations, and lead conversion.

  • Partner Support: Assist in the execution of co-marketing campaigns (webinars, shared events) with industry partners.

  • The Clear Communicator: You possess strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable coordinating with internal teams and external vendors alike.

  • The Tech-Savvy Learner: You have a passion for learning and continuous improvement. You are comfortable adopting new software quickly and have a baseline familiarity with tools like Canva, HubSpot, or Salesforce.

Requirements:

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.

  • Basic knowledge of marketing concepts and an eagerness to apply them in a real-world setting.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and vibrant work environment

  • Hands-on experience using Canva to create marketing assets such as social graphics, event materials, or presentations

  • Previous experience in event planning or management is highly valued

  • Previous experience with market research and project management is an asset

  • Experience with software such as Hubspot, Salesforce, Figma, Canva, Wordpress, is an asset

  • A passion for learning and continuous improvement

  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role

Job Type: Full Time

Salary: This compensation range takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to geographic locations, job-related skills, experience and relevant training or education, business and organizational needs.

CAD: $55,000 annually
